How does PRP work?
PRP works by harnessing the power off the platelets which are a type of cell present in the blood. These cells contain and produce growth factors which help the regeneration and regrowth off hair
What is involved in the treatment?
A small volume of Blood is drawn from the vein. This is spun in a centrifuge and the platelets are separated from the other blood cells. Once separation it is complete, the platelets are harvested and injected into the scalp and areas of hair loss.
Does it hurt?
Local anaesthetic is applied to the scalp 30 minutes prior to treatment. This numbs the scalp, and the injections are relatively painless.
How many treatments will I need?
On an average about 4 to 5 treatments are needed at 4 weekly intervals before results are visible in most cases.
